Background

The environment humanitarian actors are operating in the Asia-Pacific region continues to be further complicated by climate change, political instability, economic downturn and shrinking humanitarian space.

This year’s Regional Humanitarian Partnership Week will focus on how we can navigate through these contexts to ensure the best delivery of assistance to those most in need. It will draw on the expertise of practitioners, advocates, academics, donors and other related partners.

Each day will have a different theme which participants can use to provoke discussion, highlight solutions/resources, lessons learned and good practices, and collaborations, being undertaken to address some of the most complicated issues we face in the region.

The topics are the following:

  • 9th December- Humanitarian Conference, CHS regional consultation and launch of the State of the Humanitarian System Report
  • 12th December- the Nexus of DRR/humanitarian and Climate Change adaptation
  • 13th December- Operating in fragile and conflict-affected contexts and accountability to affected populations
  • 14th- December- Developing effective partnerships (half a day)

Participants are also encouraged to bring along any publications or your organisations’ material you would like to share with other participants. There will be a table for display.
