Description

The Action Agenda on Internal Displacement, released in June 2022 by the United Nations (UN) High-Level Panel (HLP), proposes changes to the UN system to address internal displacement while protecting human rights. It focuses on the need for durable solutions, prevention of new crises, and effective protection and assistance for displaced individuals. The Action Agenda calls for a collaborative effort from civil society, NGOs, the private sector, and national and local authorities to promote reintegration or sustainable integration for IDPs within their country. InterAction and ICVA have been instrumental in shaping the priorities and structure of the HLP and Action Agenda, monitoring and promoting its implementation, and facilitating engagements with the Special Adviser on Solutions to Internal Displacement.
