In partnership with International Medical Corps (IMC) and with support from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs – France, the International Council for Voluntary Agencies (ICVA) is organising a two-day regional symposium aimed at strengthening the capacity of NGO personnel to address the long-term impact of climate change on affected populations in East and Horn of Africa.
The Symposium will bring together 25 NGO participants from local and national NGOs from the region (Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia) to:
During the workshop, presentations by thematic experts, interactive activities, and group dialogues will be used to enhance the participants’ knowledge. topics such as climate policy, climate and human mobility, and climate and food security will be covered.
About the Project
The symposium falls under the Strengthening Local Humanitarian Action to Respond to Climate-Induced Emergencies project, which aims to strengthen the capacity of local and national NGOs (L/NNGOs) to respond to humanitarian and climate-induced emergencies in Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya.
