Consultations, Hybrid (In person and Online Format)
English
Localization
Picking up the previous Consultation discussions and following a pandemic hiatus, this year’s event will focus on culture change on localization and meaningful participation. In a hybrid in-person and online format, it will examine IOM-NGO complementarities to drive progress on operationalizing localization at the field level and respond to the current gaps in putting people, their needs and capacities at the center of response. The Consultation will look at IOM-NGO joint approaches to localization and AAP, examine how to jointly implement the related commitments, and seek to identify scalable good practice and actionable recommendations through leveraging IOM and NGOs’ respective strengths, and in line with the respective mandates.
The criteria for registration are one or more of the following:
With these criteria in mind, if you are interested in attending the 2023 IOM-NGO Humanitarian Consultation, please click here to access the registration form and register before Tuesday, 3 October 2023. This form also permits you to specify whether you wish to attend in-person or online.

Through IOM-NGO Humanitarian Consultations, IOM seeks to consult its current or prospective operational NGO partners in crisis response. These consultations complement, and are distinct from, IOM’s Annual CSO consultations and Info Sessions with the wider civil society.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) extends an invitation to humanitarian NGOs for the sixth annual IOM-NGO Humanitarian Consultation scheduled for 11 October 2023, in Geneva, Switzerland. During this consultation, the focus will be on collaborative approaches between IOM and NGOs concerning localization and AAP (Accountability to Affected Populations). The event aims to explore effective joint implementation of related commitments, highlighting best practices that can be scaled up. Leveraging the strengths of both IOM and NGOs, in line with their respective mandates, actionable recommendations will be sought.
