2019 IOM-NGO Humanitarian Consultation

2019 Consultations: 29-30 October Istanbul, Turkey

The fifth annual IOM-NGO Humanitarian Consultation will take place on 29-30 October 2019, in Istanbul, Turkey. 

The overarching theme of this year’s Consultation will be IOM-NGO partnerships to gain and maintain humanitarian access. The discussions will delve into good practice in leveraging our respective strengths to improve humanitarian coverage in volatile and insecure environments and reach those most in need. The Consultation will focus on issues including risk sharing, working with local actors, and participation of affected populations. 

More information will follow, including an online survey on priority themes which will help focus the discussions and ensure that a diversity of interests can be represented.

Webinar: Confronting the barriers to IDP women and girls' participation in humanitarian settings

This webinar is for those interested to earn from practical experiences to strengthen IDP women and girls' participation and leadership. As part of the GP20 initiative launched for the 20th anniversary of the Guiding Principles on Internal displacement, this webinar aims to bring much needed attention to the issue of internal displacement and strengthen collaboration to address this.
