About this Event
COVID-19 has now been recognised as a threat to international peace and security as the United Nations Security Council unanimously passes a resolution that calls for a global "immediate cessation of hostilities." This is a recognition of the complex impacts that COVID19 is having in conflict zones around the world.
Whilst international aid workers, journalists and diplomats head back to their home countries due to the pandemic, what is happening to those living through both COVID-19 and conflict?
With the disruption of humanitarian supply chains and the distraction away from peace negotiations, civilians caught in the midst of armed conflict, and refugees and displaced people fleeing violence will bear the brunt of the health emergency.
Join us on World Humanitarian Day as we explore the current and potential impacts of the health crises on conflict.
This is the final session of the No Safe Space: Crisis response in COVID-19 four-part online forum series co-presented by the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership (CHL), Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and Humanitarian Advisory Group (HAG).
You can stream all events from the No Safe Space series on YouTube, including the last session: Dealing with a Double Disaster: What happens when disaster strikes during a pandemic?.
